On 15 September, fintech firms BBVA Open Talent, Consult Hyperion, NYPAY and Next Bank NYC will present keynotes and discussions as well as twenty fintech start-up demos competing as part of the BBVA Open Talent competition.

“This promises to be a truly unique day,” said David True, president at NYPAY. “While NYPAY, along with Consult Hyperion, has successfully produced the Unconference since 2012, this is the first time we are adding the cutting edge demos from BBVA Open Talent and the conversations of Next Bank.”

The day will begin with an opening keynote from Jordan Lampe of Dwolla, followed by the first set of Open Talent demos and the ‘unconference’ session. The morning will close with a fireside chat featuring Josh Reich, chief executive of Simple, Jay Reinemann, executive director of BBVA Ventures and Matt Harris, managing director of Bain Capital ventures.

Following lunch, the afternoon will feature the second sessions of Open Talent Demos and the NYPAY unconference, followed by a panel discussion based on the day’s conversations. The event will conclude with two grand prize awards for the BBVA Open Talent Competition.

“Following the successful Next Bank USA in June, this is the perfect way to build upon that and expand the discussion to include the resources and expertise from NYPAY, Consult Hyperion and BBVA, said JP Nicols, chairman at Next Bank. “It will be an eventful, jam-packed, informative and thought-provoking day.”
