US FIs going digital

Credit Union of Southern California, Brazosport Teachers Federal Credit Union and Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association are undergoing tech modernisation.

Credit Union of Southern California has opted for the Architect digital banking product from Fiserv.

“A unified platform for online and mobile banking with integrated payments capabilities” will support the credit union’s mission “to build better lives for their members”, Fiserv says.

The solution will be delivered on a hosted basis.

The credit union is already using Fiserv’s Checkfree RXP electronic bill payment and Popmoney personal payment products, and these will be integrated directly into Architect. There will also be a “tight integration” with the core processing platform.

David Hanighen, CIO/CISO of Credit Union of Southern California, says the tech overhaul was needed as the legacy of “disparate online and mobile banking channels no longer fulfilled the evolving e-services needs of our members”.

The credit union has more than $1.2 billion in assets and 90,000 members.

Meanwhile, Brazosport Teachers FCU has opted for Fiserv’s Portico core processing system, Virtual Branch for online banking with enhanced bill pay, Mobiliti for mobile banking, Mobile Source Capture for mobile deposits, Loancierge for lending automation, Wisdom for accounting and call report management, and also solutions for credit and debit processing, statements and web signatures.

The new software will be delivered on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) basis.

“Our credit union is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2017. As we prepared for this milestone we thoroughly evaluated the capacity of our current technology to deliver the level of service our members will expect moving forward,” says Donna Butterfras, CEO of Brazosport Teachers FCU.

The credit union, set up in the 1940s in Houston, has $40 million in assets and 4,200 members.

The credit union reviewed “multiple technology providers”, she says, with Fiserv demonstrating “the greatest level of innovation” and “expertise with a hosted technology model”.

In Baltimore, Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association has selected Jack Henry’s Silverlake core banking system.

The bank will implement the system through JHA Outlink Processing Services (JHA OPS), Jack Henry’s outsourced offering.

The new solution will provide “enterprise-wide automation” to Rosedale Federal, the vendor says.

The bank has $826 million in assets and eight branches. It went through a “careful and thorough selection process” before settling for Silverlake, according to Jack Henry.

The bank will also implement the vendor’s Banno MobileTM solution for mobile banking as well as jhaCall Center for telephone customer support.
