Clear2Pay has acquired Jware Technologies, a provider of online and mobile payment systems. These systems are all based on the same service-oriented foundations as Clear2Pay's Open Payment Framework, with which it will be integrated.
Jware, founded in 2002, operates out of Caen where its 25 members of staff develop and sell technology to banks, financial institutions, retailers and payment processors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Jware's team will become fully part of and branded as Clear2Pay.
Michel Akkermans, chairman and chief executive of Clear2Pay said: "In the current climate, banks more than ever before, view payments as a customer centric and vital line of business. They realise that a close look at their payments operations is called for in order to have the broad business overview and to cut out inefficiencies. Short time-to-market and agility of the technology are in this respect paramount. We are therefore committed to our fundamental strategy of offering financial institutions and other payment providers a single platform that handles all payment transactions. Payments through e-commerce shops and mobile devices are increasing and form as such an important channel component in the wider payment space, which we address with our Open Payment Framework. Jware's technology will therefore enrich our offering around e-commerce, card-based applications and mobile payments as part of our Open Payment Framework."
David Gebhardt, chief executive of Jware Technologies added: "This acquisition is perceived by our team as a natural next step in our partnership which has always been based around a core and joint passion: offering state-of-the-art payments technology for a converging world. We are delighted to join one of the leading companies in this space and we look forward to leveraging our technology and expertise with the large global foot print and sales network of Clear2Pay."
