More banks get mobile with Android Pay
Like an astute player of the Risk board game, Android Pay’s global expansion plans continue apace as it is working with several banks to let their customers add cards to its service from a mobile banking app.
Google senior director product management Pali Bhat says: “After completing setup, you can use your phone to tap and pay at millions of stores and wherever you see the Android Pay button in your favourite apps and on the mobile web. Android Pay will also send you a notification after each successful transaction.”
This development was preceded by other good news.
Last year, Android Pay went live in Poland – the first country on continental Europe to launch the service. Android Pay is available to the holders of Mastercard cards issued by Alior Bank, T-Mobile Banking Services and Bank Zachodni WBK. Other Polish banks are expected to follow.
