NatWest unleashes ClearSpend app for company card control freaks
NatWest has launched ClearSpend, a free mobile app, for its commercial card customers offering real-time visibility and control of company card spending.
“The first of its kind”, the app has been rolled out following a trial in May last year, involving over 100 customers.
Alison Rose, CEO of Commercial and Private Banking at NatWest, says: “Administering a commercial card programme can be ineffective and time consuming, as customers do not always have access to the up to date information businesses need and customers are often required to call a help desk to make simple account changes.”
Rose adds that throughout the pilot it made a number of improvements and it will continue to develop the app.
Following the trial, ClearSpend now links directly to the card processor, which allows users to see transactions as they happen including real-time balance and credit limit information.
The customer can also manage their account, including setting credit limits and merchant category blocking.
The app was developed in partnership with Silicon Valley start-up SpendLabs.
