TSB berated for banking blip
TSB said its online banking service went down for 30 minutes today (16 August).
On Twitter, the bank says some of its customers experienced temporary issues, which have now been resolved.
The duration of the outage was disputed by some Twitter users. One commented: “I can assure you that it was significantly longer than 30 minutes. But thanks for your response.”
Staying on this dark matter, the IT crash in April hit TSB hard in its recent financial results with a loss before tax of £107.4 million.
It said as a result of all these issues, TSB is making efforts to minimise service disruption, which includes the recruitment of 1,800 people and reorganisation of 700 staff to customer-facing roles, as well as addressing customer complaints.
What’s the frequency, Kenneth?
These kinds of problems at UK banks are becoming quite frequent.
Earlier this month, NatWest and RBS reported that their card payments crashed.
